thanksgiving

Even though it's technically Fall until December 21st, Thanksgiving marks the unofficial end to Fall for most of us.  This year I decided to make some autumn leaves and turkeys to celebrate.

Happy Thanksgiving!

cheers

a friend asked me to make beer themed cookies for her 30th birthday party that she was having at a bar.  since st. patrick's day was 5 months away, i couldn't find a beer mug cookie cutter anywhere for less than $24.95 (seriously amazon.com?).  so, i had to improvise.  i was able to find a watering can (again, seriously?) and with a little crafting was able to create the perfect sized beer mugs.

i was pressed for time since i had a lot going on that week so i wasn't able to decorate the bottles with labels like i initially intended.  so when in doubt, a little sparkle always gets the job done.

these would make an awesome favor for any adult birthday party or beer themed event.

bridal shower flowers

i was asked by a friend to make these flower cookies as the favor for a bridal shower she was throwing last weekend.  i was pressed for time so i didn't take many great pictures.  it was rainy and humid that day but despite the weather they still came out great.

the bride's wedding colors were pink and navy so i did a mix of pinks and some navy in two different sizes.

look at the difference the right lighting can make...

the only thing i was a little disappointed about was that i didn't have enough time to search for navy sprinkle sugar so the navy cookies didn't have much sparkle to them.  it is hard to tell from the pictures but the yellow bud has some sprinkle sugar.  all in all they came out well for a week's notice!

these would make the perfect favor for a bridal shower, baby shower, gender reveal party, or girl's birthday party.  flowers can be made in multiple sizes and any color combination.

it's been a while

some things from the past few months...

 superbowl.

winter snowflakes.  i gave these instead of cards at christmas time to everyone in my office.  a little handmade cookies can brighten anyone's day.

you'd think these were for halloween, but actually they were a special request from a friend for a party she was going to.
